Notice of Data Response & Issue Resolution
Staff Workshop for the
CPV VACA STATION
The California Energy Commission Staff will conduct a Data Response and Issue Resolution Workshop for the proposed CPV Vaca Station Project (CPVVS). The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the CPV Vacaville, LLC's (CPVV) responses to staff's data requests and to work toward resolving issues. All interested agencies and members of the public are invited to participate. The workshop will be held on:
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2009
Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant
Administration and Control Building
Assembly Room, 1st floor
6040 Vaca Station Road
Elmira, California 95625
The Energy Commission Staff is currently analyzing CPVV's Application For Certification for the proposed development of the CPVVS project. Staff has provided the applicant with one set of data requests dated March 5, 2009 for the following technical areas: air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, traffic and transportation, transmission system design, visual resources and waste management. The staff workshop will focus on the set of data responses for the above areas and possible resolution of identified issues. Other areas and issues may be discussed if necessary.
Staff's data requests and the Issues Identification Report on the proposed project are available on the Energy Commission's website at: www.energy.ca.gov/sitingcases/vacastation/documents/. CPVV's responses will be posted on the Commission's website as soon as possible after receipt. Following the workshop, staff will consider the comments it receives and initiate preparation of the Preliminary Staff Assessment (PSA) containing its preliminary analysis of the CPVVS A F C and the potential impacts, including recommendations for mitigation and proposed conditions of certification.
On November 18, 2008, CPVV submitted an AFC to the California Energy Commission to construct and operate an electrical generating plant in the city of Vacaville, Solano County, California. The CPVVS would be a combined-cycle, nominal 660-megawatt (MW) power generation facility.
The proposed project would be located on a 24-acre parcel owned by the city of Vacaville, located at the intersection of Lewis and Fry roads in a rural area within the city limits of Vacaville. On the northwest of the site is the city of Vacaville's Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant (EWTP), and to the east, west, and south is agricultural use.
