City of Vernon - Malburg Generating Station
Staff Assessment Workshop


Purpose: On September 27, 2002, the staff of the California Energy Commission (Energy Commission) filed its draft independent analysis of the City of Vernon's Malburg Generating Station (MGS or Project) Application for Certification. The staff's draft analysis, known as the Staff Assessment (SA), is available for download from our website (see address below). The purpose of this workshop is to receive comments on the staff assessment from the applicant, members of the public, Intervenors, local, state, and federal agencies. The specific focus of the workshop will be staff's Air Quality analysis. Comments will be used to revise the SA. All comments on the SA should be submitted in writing by October 18, 2002.

Project Summary: The Project consists of a 134 MW combined cycle power plant, that would be located on approximately 3.4 acres of the City of Vernon's existing Station A power generating facility. The existing site includes 5.9 acres, located at 2715 East 50th Street, in Vernon, California.
