HOW TO USE THIS CD-ROM This CD-ROM includes PDF files of the full text and appendices of the "Walnut Creek Energery Park Application for Certification." These files must be read using Adobe Acrobat Reader. --ACCESSING THE REPORT The Main Text of the Report can be accessed by exiting this READ ME file and double-clicking on the "_Walnut Creek Energy Park AFC" folder. The chapters contained on this CD-ROM are designed to open in bookmark view in Adobe Acrobat. A split screen should appear on the left side that contains a list of bookmarks, or links, to the major headings in the chapter. The bookmarks also include links to the appendixes to the report. If the split screen does not appear, switch to bookmark view on the view menu. As you read each chapter, you can navigate in the document by clicking on the bookmarks. --If you do not have the Acrobat Reader on your computer, please see the installation instructions that follow. --INSTALLING ADOBE ACROBAT READER ON YOUR COMPUTER (PC Systems) 1. Click on the "AdbeRdr70_enu_full.exe" file on this CD-ROM. 2. Follow the prompts to install the Acrobat Reader 7.0 to your system. 3. Re-start your computer after you complete installation. --INSTALLING ADOBE ACROBAT READER ON YOUR COMPUTER (Macintosh Systems) 1. The Acrobat Reader should already be installed if you are running OS 8.1 or later. You can verify this by going into the Macintosh HD, to the Apple Extras Folder, to the Adobe Folder. 2. If the Reader is not there, insert the Install CD that came with you computer (Install/Restore for the G3 series of desktops and PowerBooks), open the Applications Folder, then the Adobe folder and reinstall Adobe Acrobat. 3. You can also go to Adobe.com and download the Adobe Acrobat Reader. --TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS OPENING THE PDF FILES (PC Systems) 1. In Windows, click on the "Start" button and select "run." 2. Type "d:/start.pdf" at the prompt, where "d" is your CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM will then start automatically. --TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS OPENING THE PDF FILES (Macintosh Systems) 1. Launch Adobe Acrobat. 2. Go File menu to open. 3. Navigate to CD. 4. Select document and then click open. 5. If opening still fails, re-install Acrobat.
