NOTICE OF STAFF WORKSHOP
2005 BUILDING ENERGY EFFICIENCY STANDARDS
FIRST DRAFT REVISIONS TO BUILDING
ENERGY EFFICIENCY STANDARDS
AND ALTERNATIVE CALCULATION METHOD (ACM)
The staff of the California Energy Commission will conduct this workshop to obtain public comment on the first draft revisions to the Standards and Alternative Calculation Method (ACM) Approval Manuals. These are being considered for the next update to the Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Standards) for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings (California Building Code, Title 24, Part 6).

Purpose of the Workshop
At the November 5, 2002 workshop, the Commission staff will obtain public comment on the first draft of Building Standards and ACM Manual revisions. A second draft of the documents will be presented at a follow-up workshop that is tentatively planned for January 2003.
The November 5, 2002 workshop will focus on first draft revisions to the Building Standards and ACM Manuals, with the exception of indoor and outdoor lighting revisions. A separate workshop for all draft lighting revisions is planned for November 18, 2002.
Documentation related to the November 5, 2002 workshop will be posted to the project website [www.energy.ca.gov/2005_standards] prior to October 23, 2002.
