Nonresidential Alternative Calculation Method
Approval Manual
For Compliance with California's 2001 Energy Efficiency Standards

Publication Number: P400-01-011
Dated Published: April 2001
Effective Date: June 1, 2001

Note: The Nonresidential Alternative Calculation Method (ACM) Approval Manual contains requirements for those persons who want to design a calculation computer program for use with the energy standards. Before such programs may be used to demonstrate compliance with the standards, they must be approved by the Energy Commission through the process described in the Manual. The Nonresidential ACM Manual in Chapter 7 also contains requirements for installation verification and diagnostic testing when compliance credit is contingent on efficient ducts. The appendices to the Nonresidential ACM Manual contain the protocols that must be followed by contractors and HERS raters for completing field verification and diagnostic testing of efficient ducts when required.
