DRIVING TO CLEANER TRANSPORTATION
BUSTER BIOFUELS, LLC

By producing up to 5 million gallons of biodiesel annually, Buster Biofuels seeks to fill the gap between the supply and demand for biodiesel in San Diego.

Buster Biofuels will produce about 5 million gallons of biodiesel annually by converting a 7,300-square-foot industrial warehouse into a commercial-scale production facility. Used cooking oil and other waste material will be diverted from landfills and processed into American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)-grade biodiesel fuel, which is blended with regular petroleum diesel fuel.

Buster Biofuels has significantly increased its collection of recycled fats, oils, and greases for several years through a network of nearly 1,000 restaurants and facilities in the Los Angeles and San Diego regions.

Based on advanced process engineering and reduced heating requirements, the new plant will use less energy than traditional plants.

Buster Biofuels provides fuel to local customers. Past customers include San Dieguito Union High School District for its school buses and Cannon Pacific Services in San Marcos for its street sweepers. It also serves the commercial market throughout California.
