Kevin Barker is deputy director of the Fuels and Transportation Division at the California Energy Commission. His team works to ensure that low-carbon fuels and advanced transportation elements improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Barker was the chief of staff to the former Energy Commission Chair Robert B. Weisenmiller. As chief of staff, he assisted Chair Weisenmiller and represented the Energy Commission on a range of issues such as international relations, military partnerships, and long-term planning for the use of energy resources. During his time with the Energy Commission’s Renewable Energy Office, he supported the development of the utilities’ integrated resource plans. He holds two degrees from the University of California, Irvine – one in environmental science and one in film studies.
