The California Energy Commission will hold a workshop to propose and discuss updates to the adopted 2017 Integrated Energy Policy Report energy demand forecast. Energy Commission staff will present their updated baseline forecasts of electricity consumption, electricity sales, and hourly and peak demand for 2018-2030. Following staff presentations, representatives from load-serving entities and other stakeholders will have an opportunity to share their own perspectives on California’s future energy needs.
Commissioner David Hochschild is the Lead Commissioner for the 2018 Integrated Energy Policy Report Update (2018 IEPR Update). Robert B. Weisenmiller, the Chair of the Energy Commission and Lead Commissioner for electricity and natural gas, will conduct the meeting. An executive from the California Independent System Operator (California ISO) and other Commissioners from the Energy Commission or the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) may also participate in the workshop.
