The Energy Commission, California Independent System Operator (California ISO), and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) developed an energy storage roadmap to help assess the market environment for the technology and regulatory policies for connecting new energy storage technology to the state’s power grid.
Microgrids
The Energy Commission, along with the CPUC, California ISO, and stakeholders, including utilities, microgrid owners, and manufacturers, addressed barriers, such as costs and regulatory issues, hindering the wide-scale deployment of microgrid technologies.
Vehicle-Grid Integration
The Energy Commission, CPUC, California ISO, California Air Resources Board, and other stakeholders are leading efforts to integrate electric vehicle charging needs with the needs of the electrical grid.
