Energy Commission Chair Weisenmiller Expresses
Support for the Clean Power Plan

SACRAMENTO - California Energy Commission Chair Robert B. Weisenmiller issued the following statement today in support of President Obama’s Clean Power Plan. The Clean Power Plan targets emissions from power plants, the largest stationary source of carbon pollution.

"California is a strong supporter of this commonsense plan to cut carbon pollution from power plants and will continue to lead the way in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We have proven energy efficient homes and appliances can reduce demand while providing the same or better consumer services. We have also demonstrated that higher levels of renewables can be integrated into a reliable grid to reduce greenhouse gases and criteria air pollution, and are increasingly the best buy."
