The project received funds from the Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program.

Applied Materials Inc. engineers and builds equipment, machines, and tools for clean energy manufacturing industries. The Clean Transportation Program-supported training includes courses in lithium-ion battery design, fabrication, manufacturing, modeling, and integration.

The project is a public-private partnership among the Energy Commission, the ETP, and Applied Materials Inc. More than 400 people will be trained in advanced battery manufacturing and production, where products will be used in the clean transportation sector.
