The Energy Commission grant supported improvements to Zero Motorcycles’ manufacturing and engineering processes and the purchase of equipment necessary to improve throughput. The grant also helped bring on-line significant new manufacturing capability, significantly increasing the California-based company’s manufacturing capacity and efficiency and reducing production costs. Zero Motorcycles achieved an additional 61 percent increase in manufacturing capacity by the end of the project.
The increased production helped make it possible for the company to supply motorcycles to more than 70 police and public safety agencies in California.
