  The California Energy Commission asked the Department of Finance (DOF) to audit its Public Interest Energy Research program. All of DOF's recommendations in their audit of the PIER program have been implemented or are currently being implemented by the Energy Commission staff. Two key audit recommendations that are in progress are finalizing Energy Commission legal office work with the Department of General Services (DGS) legal office on research and development contract terms and conditions, and the development and implementation of a PIER desk manual for staff.
