Please join us on September 2, 2022, from 10:00am-12:00 pm to review technical support needs for the Energy Assessment Division over the next three years. The meeting will be held via webinar-only.

The Energy Assessments Division’s mission is to assess California’s energy systems and trends, providing information for decision-makers and the public that produce policies that balance the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals.  The impacts of climate change, along with California’s efforts to reduce GHG emissions, are changing how energy is used in the state. The state’s transition to achieve its clean energy goals requires more robust evaluations of multiple pathways to achieving those goals. The Energy Assessment Division requires innovative approaches to assessing demand and supply of all energy sources, considering such factors as climate change and system reliability over a longer time horizon. Furthermore, the division is looking more closely at emerging technologies and the associated potential to support clean energy goals and the overall impacts of different futures of the state energy systems on equity communities.

Preliminary agenda topics:
The division is looking for technical support in the following areas over the next two calendar years. The division’s analytical needs for each of these topics will be discussed during the workshop.
