Add to CalendarThe California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a workshop to present a proposed approach for developing planning reserve margins for Publicly Owned Utilities (POUs) in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). This approach is being developed pursuant to the requirements in the Public Resources Code (PRC) 25704.5(b), introduced in Assembly Bill (AB) 209 (Stats. 2022, ch. 251, §14). The workshop will include an overview of resource adequacy requirements in the CAISO balancing area and a draft recommended approach to establish planning reserve margins. A quorum of commissioners may participate, but no votes will be taken.
The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time posted and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The workshop may end sooner or later than the posted end time.
