The California Energy Commission (CEC) is in the pre-rulemaking phase to improve the energy and water efficiency of commercial food service equipment. Currently, the CEC is considering establishing efficiency standards, test procedures, marking requirements, certification requirements, and any other appropriate regulations for commercial food service equipment, including but not limited to, commercial dishwashers, commercial fryers, commercial ovens, and commercial steam cookers.
