The 2020 Integrated Energy Policy Report Update provides the results of the California Energy Commission’s assessments of a variety of energy issues facing California. Many of these issues will require action if the state is to meet its climate, energy, air quality, and other environmental goals while maintaining reliability and controlling costs. 2020 was unprecedented as the state continues to face the impacts and repercussions of several events including the COVID-19 pandemic, electricity outages, and statewide wildfires. In response to these challenging events, the 2020Integrated Energy Policy Report Update covers a broad range of topics, including transitioning to a zero-emission transportation sector, microgrids, and the California Energy Demand Forecast.
