Renewables Portfolio Standard 2017–2020 Retail Sellers Procurement Verification

This Renewables Portfolio Standard 2017–2020 Retail Sellers Procurement Verification Staff Draft Report presents California Energy Commission staff’s findings on the amount of eligible renewable energy procured by retail sellers of electricity under California’s Renewables Portfolio Standard Program. The report presents findings for 44 retail sellers, which include investor-owned utilities (small, large, and multijurisdictional utilities), electric service providers, and community choice aggregators.

For each compliance period, results from the application of the verification analyses are issued separately for retail sellers and local publicly owned electric utilities. For retail sellers, the Renewables Portfolio Standard 2017–2020 Retail Sellers Procurement Verification Staff Draft Report will be adopted as a single report by the California Energy Commission at a regularly scheduled business meeting and subsequently transmitted to the California Public Utilities Commission to be used for its compliance and enforcement. For each local publicly owned electric utility, verification results will be issued in separate reports that are also adopted by the California Energy Commission at a regularly scheduled business meeting to be used for compliance and enforcement activities.
