Aborder Products, Inc. (Aborder) is an Irving, Texas based company that sells plumbing products. Aborder sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, from April 2020 to May 2024.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Aborder was selling and offering for sale Veken brand showerheads that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified correctly to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Aborder executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on November 24, 2024, for $360,202.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Aborder has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove non-compliant models from the California market and removed non-compliant models from MAEDbS.
