Alfi Trade, Inc. (Alfi Trade) is a Los Angeles, California based company that distributes and sells plumbing fittings and plumbing fixtures. Alfi Trade sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, tub spout diverters, showerheads, and water closets in California, from July 2015 to July 2021.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Alfi Trade was distributing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, tub spout diverters, showerheads, and water closets that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Alfi Trade executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on May 25, 2022, for $41,994.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Alfi Trade has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant products in California.  Alfi Trade also agrees to add the appropriate marking and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
