Anker Innovations, Ltd. (Anker) is a Kowloon, Hong Kong, based company that manufactures robotic vacuums and LED lamps. Anker sold or offered for sale robotic vacuums and lamps in California, from February 2013 to May 2018.

This case was the result of an internal tip. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation and testing process identified that Anker was manufacturing and offering for sale LED lamps that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS) and robotic vacuums containing small battery charging systems that did not meet the efficiency standard, were not marked properly, and were not certified to MAEDbS.

To settle this matter, Anker executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on December 20, 2019, for $358,500.00. The settlement monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Anker has also agreed to a compliance plan to redesign the non-compliant model to meet the efficiency standard, add the appropriate marking, and test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
