AOK Group (AOK) is a City of Industry, California based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. AOK sold or offered for sale lavatory faucets, kitchen faucets, and showerheads in California, from April 2018 to April 2022.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that AOK was manufacturing and offering for sale lavatory faucets, kitchen faucets, and showerheads that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, AOK executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 2, 2023, for $32,748.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). AOK has agreed to a settlement amount of $32,748.00, and a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models. They have also agreed to test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
