Asia Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. (AMS) is Quebec, Canada, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings and residential exhaust fans. AMS sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings and residential exhaust fans in California, from July 2015 to April 2020.

This case was the result of an anonymous complaint. The California Energy Commission's investigation and testing process identified that AMS was manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS). AMS also sold or offered for sale residential exhaust fans that were not certified to MAEDbS.

To settle this matter, AMS executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on December 11, 2020, for $90,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). AMS has also agreed to a compliance plan to redesign the non-compliant models to meet the efficiency standard, add the appropriate marking, and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
