Atomi Inc. (Atomi), is a New York, New York based company that manufactures ceiling fans. Atomi sold or offered for sale ceiling fans in California, from March 2022 to March 2023.

This case was the result of Atomi self-reporting. They were manufacturing and offering for sale a ceiling fan that did not meet the efficiency standard and was incorrectly certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Atomi executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 10, 2023, for $152,587.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Atomi has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of the non-compliant model and remove the model from MAEDbS.
