Conair Corporation, a Stamford, Connecticut based company that manufactures Cuisinart brand wine chillers, sold 538 units in California between July 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016 that were not listed in the California Appliance Efficiency Database. The California Energy Commission (CEC) staff notified the manufacturer, who immediately removed the units from the California market. The company is now in compliance. To settle this matter, the company executed a settlement agreement with the CEC on October 24, 2016 for $75,295.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011(Pavley).
