Cosmo Products, LLC (Cosmo) is a Montclair, California, based company that manufactures residential exhaust fans, kitchen faucets, and dishwashers. Cosmo sold or offered for sale residential exhaust fans, kitchen faucets, and dishwashers in California, from July 2015 to August 2018.

This case was the result of an industry complaint. CEC's investigation process identified that Cosmo was distributing and offering for sale residential exhaust fans, kitchen faucets, and dishwashers that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Cosmo executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on January 29, 2020, for $20,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Cosmo has also agreed to a compliance plan to certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
