Dawn Kitchen and Bath, Inc. (Dawn) is a Hayward, California based company that manufactures plumbing fittings.  Dawn sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and showerheads in California from July 2015 to September 2021.   

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Dawn was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and showerheads that failed the marking requirement and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Dawn executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on March 4, 2022, for $19,700.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Dawn has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
