EiKO Limited (EiKO), is an Olathe, Kansas based company that manufactures lighting products. EiKO sold or offered for sale state-regulated light emitting diode lamps (SLEDs) and state-regulated small diameter directional lamps (SDDLs) in California, from January 2018 to September 2021.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation process identified that EiKO was manufacturing and offering for sale SLEDs and SDDLs that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, EiKO executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on May 9, 2022, for $90,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). EiKO has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove non-compliant models from the California market and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
