Fontana Showers, LLC (Fontana), is a Chantilly, Virginia based company that manufactures plumbing fittings.  Fontana sold or offered for sale a showerhead in California, from April 2019 to May 2019. 

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Fontana was manufacturing and offering for sale a showerhead that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and was not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Fontana executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on March 4, 2022, for $1,800.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley).  Fontana has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove this showerhead model from the California market.
