Halco Lighting Technologies (Halco) is a Norcross, Georgia based company that manufactures lighting products. Halco sold or offered for sale state-regulated light emitting diodes (SLEDs) and small diameter directional lamps (SDDLs) in California, from August 2019 to August 2023.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Halco was manufacturing and offering for sale SLEDs that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Halco executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on November 2, 2023, for $16,749. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Halco has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
