Hansgrohe, Inc (Hansgrohe) is an Alpharetta, Georgia, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Hansgrohe sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, during the time period of January 2014 to June 2017.

This case was a result of research performed by California Energy Commission (Commission) staff. The Commission's investigation process identified Hansgrohe manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings not certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database) and did not meet the efficiency standard.

To settle this matter, Hansgrohe executed a Settlement Agreement with the Commission on April 4, 2018, for $300,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011(Pavley). Hansgrohe has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove violating products from the California market and to test and certify each basic model to the Database before continuing to sell into California.
