Hydropool Hot Tubs (Hydropool) is a Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, based company who manufactures portable electric spas. Hydropool sold or offered for sale portable electric spas in California, during the time period of July 2015 to August 2016.

This case was a result of data mining performed by Commission staff. The Commission's investigation process identified Hydropool manufacturing and offering for sale portable electric spas not tested and certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database) in accordance with the regulations.

To settle this matter, Hydropool executed a Settlement Agreement with the Commission on May 31, 2018, for $65,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Dynasty Spas has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify each basic model to the Database before continuing to sell into California.
