Italia Faucets, Inc. (Italia) is a Henderson, Nevada, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Italia sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, from July 2015 to May 2020.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC's investigation and testing process identified that Italia was manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Italia executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on January 25, 2021, for $30,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Italia has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of models that did not meet the efficiency standard, add the appropriate marking, and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
