ITW Food Equipment Group (ITW) is a company that manufactures commercial cooking products based in Baltimore, Maryland. ITW sold or offered for sale commercial hot food holding cabinets and commercial convection ovens in California, from April 2020 to April 2024.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that ITW was manufacturing and offering for sale Vulcan and Wolf brand commercial hot food holding cabinets and commercial convection ovens that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, ITW executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 21, 2025, for $307,400.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code section 25402.11. ITW has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
