JE Home, LLC (JE) is a South Bend, Indiana based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. JE sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, from January 2020 to August 2022.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that JE was manufacturing and offering for sale showerheads and showerhead-tub spout diverter combinations that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, JE executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on February 17, 2023, for $3,500.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). JE has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models, add the appropriate marking, and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
