Johnson Outdoor Marine Electronics Inc. (JOME), is a Eufaula, Alabama, based company who manufactures portable battery charger systems. JOME sold or offered for sale portable battery charger systems in California, during the time period of July 2015 to July 2017.

This case started as JOME self-reporting the violation. The Energy Commission's investigation process identified JOME manufacturing and offering for sale portable battery charger systems that were not certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database).

To settle this matter, JOME executed a Settlement Agreement with the Energy Commission on August 2, 2018, for $7,909.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). JOME has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify each basic model to the Database before continuing to sell into California.
