Matrix Decor LLC (Matrix Decor) is a Denver, Colorado, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings and fans. Matrix Decor sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, showerheads, and ceiling fans in California, from August 2019 to August 2021.

This case was the result of an anonymous complaint. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation and testing process identified that Matrix Decor was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and showerheads that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS). Matrix Decor was also manufacturing and offering for sale ceiling fans that were not certified to MAEDbS.

To settle this matter, Matrix Decor executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on December 6, 2021, for $14,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Matrix Decor has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove the non-compliant models from the California market, add the appropriate marking, and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
