MM Casa Inc. (MM Casa) is a company that manufactures plumbing fittings based in Commerce City, Colorado. MM Casa sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and showerheads in California, from January 2021 to January 2025.
This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that MM Casa was manufacturing and offering for sale Casainc brand kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and showerheads that did not meet the efficiency standard, were not marked properly, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).
To resolve this matter, MM Casa executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on October 17, 2025, for $26,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code 25402.11. MM Casa has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models, and redesign the non-compliant model to meet the efficiency standard, add the appropriate marking, and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
