Mondawe, Inc. (Mondawe) is a company that manufactures plumbing fittings based in Boulder, Colorado. Mondawe sold or offered for sale showerheads, showerhead-tub spout diverters, kitchen faucets, and lavatory faucets in California, from November 2020 to May 2025.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Mondawe was manufacturing and offering for sale showerheads, showerhead-tub spout diverters, kitchen faucets, and lavatory faucets that did not meet the efficiency standard, were not marked properly, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, Mondawe executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on October 8, 2025, for $16,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code section 25402.11. Mondawe has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models, correct the manufacturing defect, add the appropriate marking, and test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
