Novatto, Inc. (Novatto) is a Phoenix, Arizona, based company that manufactures plumbing products. Novatto sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets and lavatory faucets in California, from July 2015 to October 2020.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC's investigation and testing process identified that Novatto was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets and lavatory faucets that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Novatto executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on September 9, 2021, for $5,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Novatto has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of the non-compliant models in California, and will add the appropriate marking and certify all complaint models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
