Ojeda USA, Incorporated (Ojeda) is a company that manufactures refrigerators and freezers based in South Carolina. Ojeda sold or offered for sale commercial refrigerators and freezers in California, from January 2022 to January 2026.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s investigation process identified that Ojeda was manufacturing and offering for sale commercial refrigerators and freezers that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, Ojeda executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on April 29, 2026, for $36,500.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code section 25402.11. Ojeda has also agreed to a compliance plan to certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
