Perfect Aire, LLC (Perfect Aire) is a Countryside, Illinois based company that manufactures room air conditioners, dehumidifiers, portable air conditioners, microwaves, and refrigerator-freezers. Perfect Aire sold or offered for sale these products in California, from July 2015 to June 2021.   

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Perfect Aire was manufacturing and offering for sale room air conditioners, dehumidifiers, portable air conditioners, microwaves, and refrigerator-freezers that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Perfect Aire executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on March 7, 2022, for $23,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley).  Perfect Aire has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
