QC Manufacturing, Inc. (QC), dba Quiet Cool Advanced Whole House Fans, is a Temecula, California, based company who manufactures whole house fans. QC sold or offered for whole house fans in California, during the time period of December 15, 2015 to July 18, 2016.

This case started as an anonymous consumer complaint. The California Energy Commission's (Commission) testing and investigation process identified QC manufacturing and offering for sale whole house fans that were listed in the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database) with greater air flow and air flow efficiency data than could be verified by the Commission's testing laboratory.

To settle this matter, QC executed a Settlement Agreement with the Commission on December 15, 2017 for $205,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011(Pavley). QC has agreed to a compliance plan to test all basic models and ensure Database listings are kept accurate before continuing to sell into California.
