Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC) is a Cullman, Alabama based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. RWC sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, showerheads, and tub spout diverters in California, from February 2020 to February 2024.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that RWC was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, showerheads, and tub spout diverters that were not marked properly and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, RWC executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on November 25, 2024, for $19,424.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). RWC has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking and test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
