Satco Products, Inc. (Satco) is a Brentwood, New York, based company that manufactures lighting products. Satco sold or offered for sale state-regulated light emitting diode lamps (SLEDs), state-regulated small diameter directional lamps (SDDLs), previously state-regulated general service incandescent lamps (SGSLs), and previously state-regulated incandescent reflector lamps (SRLs) in California, from January 2018 to December 2019.

This case was the result of an industry complaint. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation process identified that Satco was manufacturing and offering for sale SLEDs, SDDLs, SGSLs, and SRLs that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Satco executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on January 14, 2022, for $58,808.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Satco has also agreed to a compliance plan to implement procedures that would prevent the sale of non-compliant products in California.
