Sengled USA, Incorporated, is a Buford, Georgia based company that manufactures Sengled and Sigalux brand state-regulated LED lamps. Sengled sold or offered for sale lamps in California, from April 2019 to April 2023.
This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Sengled was manufacturing and offering for sale lamps that failed the performance requirement, failed the marking requirement and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).
To settle this matter, Sengled executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on July 23, 2024, for $122,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Sengled has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant Sigalux models and certify Sengled models not found in MAEDbS.
