Soraa, Inc. (Soraa), is a Fremont, California, based company that manufactures state-regulated small diameter directional lamps and state-regulated light emitting diode lamps. Soraa sold or offered for sale small diameter directional lamps and state-regulated light emitting diode lamps in California, from December 2018 to April 2019.

This case was the result of an industry complaint. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation process identified that Soraa was manufacturing and offering for sale state-regulated small diameter directional lamps and state-regulated light emitting diode lamps that did not meet the efficiency standard.

To settle this matter, Soraa executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on February 5, 2020, for $50,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Soraa has also agreed to a compliance plan to develop a compliant line of lamps and to test and certify all new models to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System before continuing to sell in California.
