Spa World, Corporation (Spa World), is a Miami, Florida, based company that manufacture plumbing fittings. Spa World sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, from July 2015 to February 2019.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC's investigation and testing process identified that Spa World was manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings that failed the marking requirement and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Spa World executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on March 19, 2020, for $113,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Spa World has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking, test and certify all models to MAEDbS, and Spa World will not provide instructions directing the user to an alternative water-use setting that would exceed the efficiency standard before continuing to sell in California.
