Sunco Lighting Incorporated (Sunco) is a Valencia, California based company that manufactures lighting products. Sunco sold or offered for sale state-regulated light emitting diode lamps (SLEDs) in California, from January 2020 to January 2023.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Sunco was manufacturing and offering for sale SLEDs that did not meet the performance requirement.

To settle this matter, Sunco executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on May 24, 2024, for $6,134.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Sunco has also discontinued the non-compliant models and redesigned them to meet the performance requirement.
