Suneli Fixtures Center Inc. (Suneli) is a Rancho Cucamonga, California, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings and plumbing fixtures. Suneli sold or offered for sale showerheads, kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and water closets in California, from July 2015 to April 2021.

This case was the result of an internal tip. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation and testing process identified that Suneli was manufacturing and offering for sale showerheads, kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, and water closets that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Suneli executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on September 29, 2021, for $40,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Suneli has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove non-complaint models from the California market. Suneli also agrees to add the appropriate marking and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
